What is PAP LED whitening?
PAP is Phthalimidoperoxycaproic Acid, a whitening ingredient used in Luxsmile's peroxide-free PAP products.
The Luxsmile PAP LED Whitening Kit includes a 25 ml tube of mint PAP+ gel, a white rechargeable mouthpiece and a USB charging cable. The supplied gel provides approximately 18–20 treatments, depending on the amount used for each treatment.
What is the Rapid LED Whitening Kit?
The Luxsmile Rapid LED Whitening Kit is the peroxide-based option. It contains a six-bulb LED device, an attachable mouthpiece and three 4 ml gel pens. Treatment time is 10–30 minutes according to the supplied directions.
Does the LED light do the whitening?
The whitening gel contains the active whitening formulation. The light is part of the treatment system, but comparing LED kits only by bulb count or light colour can be misleading. Look at the gel formulation, treatment instructions and contents as well.
How should an LED whitening kit be used?
The precise steps vary between products, so read and follow the instructions supplied with your kit. General points include:
- Apply only the directed amount of gel.
- Avoid applying gel directly to the gums.
- Use the device only for the stated treatment time.
- Clean the mouthpiece as directed after use.
- Do not exceed the recommended frequency or combine whitening treatments in the same session.
PAP LED or peroxide LED?
The original PAP LED Kit remains a peroxide-free option, while the Rapid LED Kit is peroxide-based. The newer Essential and Premium ranges let you choose either PAP+ or peroxide at both kit levels: Essential for a straightforward LED routine, or Premium for a dual blue/red light device.

LED kit vs strips or whitening pens
LED kits provide a mouthpiece-based routine. Whitening strips hold the formulation directly against the teeth, while whitening pens allow a more targeted gel application.

What if I have sensitive teeth?
Some people may experience temporary sensitivity or gum irritation with whitening products. A peroxide-free choice may suit customers who want to avoid peroxide, but no whitening format can guarantee that sensitivity will never occur.

Safety and suitability
Results vary from person to person. Crowns, veneers, fillings and other restorations may not change colour in the same way as natural teeth.
